This is an article about the effects that food has on mental health. Results of many health studies have shown a positive link between diet quality and mental health. While there seems to be a link between food and mental health, it is not on a cause and effect basis. This article mentions the Ketogenic diet, which is a high fat, moderate protein, and low carb diet. It is used toto help people control epileptic seizures and also helps people with bipolar disorder. It is not believed that diet alone can completely change one’s mental health, yet this diet is thought to be a good supplement to “mood stabilizing” medications. While I feel like it could be considered common knowledge that certain (usually healthier) foods make you feel good, it is interesting that this study found that foods higher in fat were positively correlated with improving mental health.
